Tomato Pulao


2 cups Rice (Basmati rice is preferred)
5 to 6 Tomatoes (cut into pieces) 
2 medium Onion (cut into pieces) 
6 to 10 red  chilli
1/2 tsp Chilly powder 
1/2 tsp Turmeric 
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste   
4 Cloves 
1 piece Cinnamon 
3 Cardamons 

bay leaves few 
Grated fresh coconut – 3 tsp
3 tbsp butter 

Method 

  • Wash and soak rice for 15 minutes in water. Drain water and keep it aside.

  • In a frying pan, add cloves, cinnamon, cardamon red chilly and fry for a minute and make it to a powder and to this add grated coconut and lil bit water and make it to a paste

  • In a frying pan add butter when butter melts add mustered seeds and onions fry till onions are transparent and Add ginger & garlic to it, fry for a minute. then add chopped tomatoes  salt, chilly powder and turmeric to it.

  • After tomatoes are cooked for 3 to 4 minutes, add bay leaf and  rice to it and stir.

  • Now put 2 to 3 cups of water and cook till rice is cooked mix well and serve hot
